Publishing viewables upon check-in

There’s an option within Windchill PDMLink to automatically publish lightweight viewable files for Creo View each time an item is checked in.  All publishing is handled behind the scenes and is generated by the CAD worker, not the user’s local Creo/Wildfire session.

Note: This technique assumes the Windchill system has one or more functional CAD workers.

To enable publishing upon check-in, all you need to change is one property in the wvs.properties file:

publish.service.readytopublish.enabled=true

Of course the next time xconfmanager -p is used, the wvs.properties file will be re-created so you’ll also need to add/change the corresponding entry in site.xconf for both the foreground and background servers:

   <Property name="publish.service.readytopublish.enabled" overridable="true" targetFile="codebase/wvs.properties" value="true"/>
